Abstract

This research aims to explore the concept of tahajjud prayer in the Qur'an by examining its definition, number of rak'ahs, time of observance, benefits, and spiritual urgency. The study uses a descriptive method and falls under library research with a thematic tafsir (interpretation) approach. The main verses analyzed include Q.S. Al-Isra’ (17:79), Az-Zumar (39:9), As-Sajdah (32:16), and Al-Muzzammil (73:2), all of which emphasize the importance and virtues of tahajjud prayer as a night worship that draws believers closer to Allah. The Qur'an was revealed to Prophet Muhammad SAW through the angel Jibril in Arabic, a language rich in meaning, containing teachings on creed (aqidah), law (sharia), and morality (akhlaq). In this context, tahajjud prayer serves as a means of spiritual intimacy with God (taqarrub) and purification of the soul (tazkiyat al-nafs), fostering a balanced development of spiritual, emotional, and intellectual intelligence. Therefore, it is crucial for Muslims, especially the younger generation, to revive the Prophet’s Sunnah by regularly practicing tahajjud, as a way to achieve harmony between worldly and spiritual life. Keywords:  Virtues, Tahajjud Prayer, Al-Isra’.
