Plagiarism Policy

Al-Qorni is committed to maintaining academic integrity and ensuring that all published works are original and ethically produced. Therefore, every manuscript submitted to this journal must be free from any form of plagiarism. This policy is established to uphold the highest standards of scholarly publication.

1. Plagiarism Screening

All manuscripts received by the editorial team are subjected to plagiarism screening using an accredited similarity-check tool. The screening is conducted prior to the peer-review stage. The similarity report becomes the basis for determining whether a manuscript is eligible to proceed to review.

2. Acceptable Similarity Threshold

Al-Qorni sets a maximum acceptable similarity index of 20%, with the following considerations:

  • Similarity found in the methodology section may be tolerated as long as it does not constitute substantive plagiarism.

  • Direct quotations must be properly cited and written in accordance with academic citation standards.

  • Similarity resulting from templates, technical terms, or common expressions is not regarded as a violation.

Manuscripts exceeding the similarity limit will be returned to the authors for revision or rejected, based on the editorial board’s decision.

3. Types of Plagiarism

The journal does not tolerate any form of plagiarism, including but not limited to:

  • Direct plagiarism: copying text verbatim without proper attribution.

  • Mosaic plagiarism: rephrasing text while maintaining the structure or idea without proper citation.

  • Idea plagiarism: using another person’s concepts, ideas, or methods without acknowledgment.

  • Self-plagiarism: reusing one’s own previously published work without permission or without stating that the work has been published elsewhere.

4. Consequences of Plagiarism

If plagiarism is detected, one or more of the following actions may be taken:

  • The manuscript is returned for major revision.

  • The manuscript is rejected and cannot be resubmitted.

  • The author may be temporarily barred from submitting to the journal.

  • For severe violations, the editorial board reserves the right to notify the author’s institution.

If plagiarism is discovered after publication, the editorial team may take corrective actions, such as:

  • Retraction of the published article.

  • Issuance of a formal ethical violation notice in the subsequent journal issue.

5. Author Responsibilities

Authors bear full responsibility for the originality of their submissions. By submitting a manuscript to Al-Qorni, authors declare that:

  • The manuscript is an original scholarly work.

  • All sources have been properly acknowledged and cited.

  • No part of the manuscript violates copyright or academic ethical standards.
